An Idea Is Born
An Idea Is Born
March 2017, a remarkable young Scout named Denzel Honore, just 17 years old, embarked on an inspiring journey to restore one of the oldest public schoolhouses in Hempstead, spurred on by a local government official's suggestion. Denzel's infectious enthusiasm quickly united the community, attracting individuals with diverse expertise, all eager to contribute their knowledge and skills to his ambitious. Conversations with Denzel and his peers revealed that history wasn't a favorite subject for many, but witnessing Denzel's passion ignited their interest, encouraging them to join in and make a difference.
The Dream
It was then that it became evident that we could rekindle a passion for history in our youth. If we can get them involved in the restoration and preservation of historical sites and historical data, then maybe the dates and names would become real to them.
So we got together a team of educators, historians, and administrators who themselves are great dealing with young men and women. A team that would work with any deserving young person who is interested in restoring or preserving a part of his or her Community that has historical value. A young person who would trumpet the preservation of a historica gem that would otherwise be lost.
HELP US HELP OUR YOUTH GET INVOLVED IN RE-BUILDING THE BEAUTIFUL RELICS OF THE PAST IN OUR COMMUNITIES SO THAT WE CAN ALL ENJOY THEM FOR YEARS TO COME.
